Art Docent Program 

 

art example 1Become an art docent today! Art Docents are volunteers who teach art lessons to our students. Art docent lessons help enrich students' overall visual arts experience.

 

 

About the Art Docent Program:

 

  • No art or teaching experience is necessary! Our lessons are scripted and prepared and all supplies are provided by our PTSA.
  • All supplies you need are provided and are easily accessible right at school.
  • We teach 6-8 lessons a year per class. You do not need to attend every lesson.
  • Volunteers take turns on who leads the lessons and who assists. Feel free to sign up for more than one teacher.
  • Schedule your lessons with the teacher based on your availability.
  • Art lessons are fast, only 60-90 minutes including the project.

Leads vs. Volunteer slots

  • The Lead will email the teacher and other docents each month to coordinate lesson times and topics. They serve as a single point of contact for teachers and fellow classroom volunteers.
  • Leads and volunteers will rotate who presents each lesson.
