Before and After School Enrichment

Before-School Ball Hockey

No ice, no skating, and no equipment to buy. Ball hockey is played like ice hockey but on a hard surface - students wear tennis shoes and play with a ball instead of a puck. It's a fast, team-based sport that builds coordination, agility, and an understanding of how to play with other people. No experience is needed. Classes run through games, challenges, and friendly scrimmages, with coaches teaching the fundamentals along the way. McVander brings a portable rink and all equipment to the school.

Wednesdays, 8:00 - 9:00 AM | October 7 - December 9 | Grades K–5 Ball Hockey

After-School Chess Club

Taught by Emil Anka, a FIDE International Grandmaster and International Arbiter who has been teaching children chess for over thirty years. Students are grouped by grade level and by playing level, so the class works for children who have never played as well as those who already know the game.
